About

I have created this blog to hold technical information, issues found and solved, and tips that help me and could be interesting to others.

Below is some information about me including a Bio or two, links to articles and other works I have had published, projects or websites I maintain or have built etc. Maybe a resume later.

Bio (short)

My name is Jayson Lorenzen and I have been working as Technologist for 13 years doing analysis, design and development of systems including the following domains: News & Media, Search, Reporting/Data Mining, web and Games.

I am currently working as a Sr. Software Engineer with Business Wire (http://www.businesswire.com). I am also a representative for Business Wire in the IPTC (International Press Telecommunications Council)  and Chairman of the (IPTC) NewsML 1 Maintenance working party.

I wrote a couple of chapters in the book:

Python Programming with the Java(TM) Class Libraries: A Tutorial for Building Web and Enterprise Applications with Jython (v. 1)

Websites I have created and maintain:

Though I don’t do this much anymore, I have built and still maintain several sites for a local photographer, Rocky Arroyo, these all consist of creating a custom site using PHP, and the great Gallery application  (http://gallery.menalto.com/). The images on the site are taken from the Gallery application and the Gallery theme is custom and written by me (gallery themes use PHP and Smarty Templates). I also set up this business with a Domain and a Host for the websites.
